Dee Dee Starr is a rock band from Vancouver, BC featuring singer/songwriter Dee Dee Starr, and musician/producer Herman Hundle. Dee Dee Starr’s sound is influenced by a range of music that includes proto-punk, glam metal, and power pop. “We don’t try to define it”, says Dee Dee. “We’re just having fun making the noise that comes out when we get together with friends on stage or in the studio.”

Dee Dee’s creative journey began at home with her mother’s record collection providing a diverse soundtrack of oldies, rock, and country & western, all leaving a lasting imprint. Her early performance experiences came through school pageants, but her real passion for music was ignited when she discovered the world of karaoke. What began as a fun pastime soon saw her becoming a well-known figure on the local karaoke scene, though she had no initial plans to pursue a professional music career.

Herman is veteran of many Vancouver performing acts as a drummer, songwriter, and producer since his mid-teens. He’s only recently moved closer to the front of the stage with a sunburst Les Paul slung over his shoulder and a song in his heart! Herman is also the driving force behind 8 Ohms Records and StreetKore Management Group. When he’s not shredding East Van on his Jay Adams Z-Flex, or in a meeting at the pub, he’s probably in the studio.

In recent years, Dee Dee Starr has grown into modern performing and recording artists under the banner of StreetKore and 8 Ohms. They are currently promoting their latest single, Boombox, which has already garnered attention with a music video on YouTube and audio streaming across all major platforms. Dee Dee and Herman are also hard at work on a full-length debut album to be released sometime in 2025.
